Nigerian girl whose result was withheld scores 9 A’s in WAEC, passes IELTS, SAT in flying colours

There’s a genius in every corner of Nigeria, and it is said that a talent finder need not have to look too hard before spotting one.

A Nigerian student, Victory Yinka-Banjo is one that can be described as a young genius following her stellar academic year which graced her exit from secondary school in December.

Victory, who had a little setback whilst awaiting the release of her WAEC result, revealed that upon its eventual release, she aced it by scoring 9 A’s.

The smart girl, in a post on her LinkedIn page, said she also sat for IELTS, JAMB UTME, IGSSE and had a 99% success in all the exams.

Victory, however, said that out of all the exams she passed, she would like to talk more about her 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) as the exams body withheld her results.

She said:

“It was emotionally traumatic for me because I needed it for my university applications and the uncertainty was killer. Plus, having withheld results is not perceived as a good thing. I cried A LOT, even the day before my graduation (Dec 12th).”

After withholding her results for six weeks, the academic body finally released them and according to her, the grades were all distinctions.

She was also declared the World Best Candidate in English as a Second Language (Speaking Component) by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).

Furthermore, the smart teenager made the list of top 5 best candidates locally and globally in other examinations such as UTME, IELTS, SAT.
