The former Governor made this known via his twitter handle on Friday night saying Federal Government withdrew the funds from the country’s excess crude account, ECA, in 2017 under the guise of fighting Insecurity when it was really to fund the re-election of APC Candidates.
“When in December 2017, FG took $1bn from the Excess Crude Account purportedly to buy arms to fight Boko Haram, I did say then that the money was to fund the 2019 Reelection of @OfficialAPCNg candidates. Not many people suspected.”
“Nigerians should recall that I took a stand openly against withdrawal of the $1bn. 30 months after the $1bn was released, Nigerians, including soldiers and FG officials are complaining of no arms and ammunition to combat insecurity in the country.”
“More than ever before, more killings and kidnappings are being witnessed daily. Nigerians want explanations on what happened to $1Bn.”
